A Coronation Street spokeswoman has rubbished claims that filming on the soap has been thrown into crisis, as the crew threaten to strike over poor working conditions.
The Sun Online has reported that staff on the show are struggling with the move to six episodes a week, with annual leave cancelled in the run-up to Christmas and everyone feeling over-worked.
“Corrie bosses are facing a mutiny if nothing is done to change what’s happening behind the scenes,” an insider told The Sun Online.

“They’re short-staffed and overworked and the crew have had enough. It’s been made worse since they started filming six episodes a week.
“And now, in the run-up to Christmas, they’re having to work even harder to make sure everyone can have their two-week break over the festive period.”
And the insider added that while the long hours are causing trouble, they’re not the only thing the crew want sorted out. They claimed the staff have to work with old or even broken equipment.
“The sound guys get the worst deal – they’ve got old kit and every boom microphone seems to be broken,” the source said.
“They can’t understand why ITV won’t invest some money into getting them better equipment.”
The Sun Online reported that the crew are at the end of their tether over the working conditions and are threatening to walk out on the show.
“If nothing changes and it carries on like this, they’re going to have a set full of actors and absolutely no crew come the New Year,” the insider said.

“It’s all-out war and the staff aren’t going to back down this time.”
But a Corrie rep told Entertainment Daily! that they weren’t aware of any concerns among the crew.
“We have not been made aware of any broken equipment or issues over scheduling,” she told us.
“If anyone had such concerns we would expect to be made aware of it directly.”
