Corrie fans worked themselves into a right old social media frenzy tonight after Nicola Rubinstein told her dad, Pat ‘Mad Dog’ Phelan, that she’s up the duff by Gary Windass.
Now, as we all know only too well, Gary and Phelan aren’t exactly the best of friends. And can you even imagine him co-grandparenting with Anna?
Nope.
Judging by Phelan’s face when he heard Nic’s happy nappy news, we kinda reckon that Daniel Osbourne may have unwittingly escaped a future chained up in a dingy basement.
And we weren’t the only ones who came to the conclusion that poor old Gary is now at the top of Phelan’s Andy Replacement List, bumping Daniel down into second place.
Now, we might be going out on a limb here, but this latest development has really got us thinking. So Gary is supposedly getting killed off later this year while he’s on a dangerous job in Ukraine.
Might this just be a cover from Phelan who secretly has Gary stashed away in his cellar-prison?
It’s also been widely reported that Corrie bosses are lining up horror for Anna before actress Debbie Rush leaves the soap later this year. Could THESE FACTS BE LINKED?
Just to refresh your memories, Phelan is currently holding former Bistro worker Andy Carver hostage in the cellar of a derelict house.
Andy’s been down there for the best part of a year now and, obvs, is desperate to get out. But after several unsuccessful break-out attempts (Michael Schofield he ain’t) Phelan doesn’t trust him not to grass him up.
So Andy came up with a plan to get a replacement, one he has to look after, so if he decides to go to the police at any point Phelan’s got something just as damning as him.
Got it?
Phelan’s had Daniel in his sights since the roving wannabe reporter started digging around about the flat development scam Phelan was part of.
But we’re pretty sure that getting his newly-found daughter up the duff, while in a relationship with another woman, might trump that.
Some viewers just want the whole plot done with, though…
We’re not so sure… it looks like it’s just about to get VERY interesting. Watch yer back, Gary lad!
