It was action stations in last night’s Corrie as Liz McDonald swooped into action to stop Michelle coming unexpectedly face-to-face with her estranged son, Ali.
Ali is a new GP at the Street’s surgery, where Liz is HEAD receptionist (as she likes to remind everyone) – but he didn’t want Michelle to know he was in the area.
“Would you mind not mentioning the M word?” he asked Liz, telling her to keep his arrival quiet.
But Liz decided she was going to spill the beans anyway. She headed to the Bistro to break the news, but before she could share she was swept up into a Connor family party to celebrate Michelle and Robert’s engagement.
And when Liz popped to the lav, Michelle managed to cut her hand badly.
With her hand pouring with blood, Michelle dashed to the medical centre to get patched up.
When Liz realised where she’d gone, she was frantic and legged it after Michelle to stop an unexpected meeting.
She dashed down the cobbles shouting: “Emergency!” pausing only to check out Imran Habeeb as she ran past (who can blame her?!)
And the fans loved it!

“Liz running is quite a sight!” said one amused viewer.
“Liz running down the street is hilarious,” said another.
And many fans made good use of the crying-laughing emojis!
Sadly the mother-son reunion wasn’t nearly as fun as Liz running.
Ali was grumpy and rude to an emotional Michelle – and even sent another doctor in to treat her wound.
