We’ve seen David struggle with his ordeal for the past couple of months but Aidan Connor’s suicide proved to be a turning point for the traumatised hairdresser as he realised he didn’t want to go down the same dark path.

David finally confessed to his girlfriend Shona Ramsey what happened and now he decides it’s time to report Josh’s horrific crime to the police.

With Shona by his side David heads to the police station to tell them what happened and it’s not long before the cops arrive on the cobbles and arrest Josh on suspicion of rape.

Brave David then steals himself to tell the rest of his family the truth about why he’s been behaving so recklessly over recent weeks.

As he sits down with Audrey and Gail, David describes to them how his so-called mate Josh slipped date rape drub GHB into his drink during their lads’ night out.

He goes on to explain how Josh then manipulated him into going back to his flat, where he dragged a semi-conscious David to the bedroom and raped him.

David then explains that Aidan’s suicide was a signal for him to face his demons or he could very easily find himself heading down the same path.

As they listen to David’s heart-breaking story, Audrey and Gail are horrified that he’s been suffering in silence. A devastated Gail hugs her son close during his emotional speech.

Meanwhile, the police take Josh to the station and question him about David’s allegations, but the slimy mechanic feigns bewilderment and refuses to answer any questions.
