Gail Rodwell turns detective next week as she goes snooping on mum Audrey and discovers to her horror she’s back with dastardly Lewis Archer.
Poor Gail is left distraught and furious at her mother for taking back Nigel Havers’ charming rogue after he fleeced Gail out of £40,000 and fled the country.
Even worse, Audrey lies to her daughter that she is away on a cruise in a bid to keep her rekindled romance a secret.

The truth comes out, though, when Gail suspects something is up and pays a visit to her mum’s house to find out what’s going on.
Peeking through the windows, she catches the pair red-handed and is stunned to see they have reunited.
The saga begins in scenes to be aired this Friday (August 17) when Audrey is shocked to receive a prison visiting order from Lewis.
She goes along and the crook tries his best to convince her he’s a changed man and is determined to make amends for his past scams.

To prove it, he’s handed himself in to the police and transferred £40,000 back into Gail’s account.
Lewis tells Audrey that she’s the only woman he’s ever truly loved and reveals that he’s due for release on Wednesday, leaving Audrey torn.
Gail, however, remains deeply suspicious, despite her mother suggesting he’s turned over a new leaf. It’s a case of the heart ruling the head for Audrey.
ITV confirmed on its official Coronation Street website: “In order to spend time with Lewis, Audrey tells Gail that she’s gone away on a cruise.
“But when she finds out that Audrey has lied, Gail goes round to her house to see what’s really going on. How will she react?”
Not great, would be our guess.

After a five-year absence, Lewis returned to Corrie in June when it looked like he was in cahoots with fake psychic Rosemary to rip off Gail again.
