There is big trouble for Sally Metcalfe next week when she’s taken in by Rosie’s model mate Olivia’s dad, Duncan and decides to give him the charity fund money.
Sally and husband Tim met Duncan a few weeks ago when Rosie stopped Olivia from being jailed over the drug smuggling plot involving Rosie’s dodgy ex.
Duncan was impressed to meet the Mayor of Weatherfield and Sal was touched when he told her about losing his wife after she suffered a stroke.
He went on to ask Sally if she’d be able to help him make an application to the council for its charitable causes fund as he’d like to help other stroke victims and their families.
But Duncan is rattled next week when he overhears Sally tell Tim that she’s going to hand over the charitable fund gig to another colleague.
They’re at the hospital waiting on news about Kevin’s lad Jack, when Duncan overhears the conversation.
He quickly tries to talk her out of it and she seems to agree although Tim is suspicious and warns her against handing the charity money over to Duncan because he doesn’t trust him.
But Sally is totally taken in by Duncan and when he tells her more about what his wife went through she sold and decides that the charity money will go to him,
As he arrives at her house with an impressive looking bunch of flowers, Sally is delighted to tell him that his application for the charity fund was successful.
An angry and suspicious Tim watches on as Duncan asks if Sally can fast-track some of the cash because he’s found a good deal on some equipment for his project.
Even more suspicious now, Tim ropes in Steve McDonald and together they set off to Dodgy Duncan’s office to find it completely empty. Uh oh.
Sally is absolutely gutted to discover that the money and Duncan have both vanished.
She’s then left totally reeling when the head of finance from the council Jeanette arrives and tells her that she has no choice but to get the police involved.
This is only the beginning of Sally’s nightmare though as it’s believed Duncan will falsely accuse Sally of having an affair with him, meaning the money she handed over is even more dodgy!
And Tim will end up on the wrong side of the law when he tries to defend his wife.
The loyal taxi driver leaps to Sally’s defence – with his fists – when she is falsely labelled a cheat in upcoming scenes.
But the punch-up could very well make things even worse for Sally…
A source told Digital Spy: “The reasons why Duncan wants to ruin Sally’s reputation will become clearer in a few weeks, but it looks like someone in Weatherfield Town Hall wants to get rid of Sally.”
Outgoing producer Kate Oates recently promised a big storyline for the Metcalfes and this could be the beginning of it.

She told Metro.co.uk: “Things get massive for the Metcalfes – they will be big right up until Christmas. I can’t promise they will still be the Christmas story as Iain (MacLeod, new producer) is taking over from me, but they have huge material for them that will see Tim and Sally at their best.”
This isn’t the first time Sally has been targeted by a rival after her council election, though. A previous social media troll was revealed to be her estranged sister Gina.
