There’s a surprise in store for Corrie viewers next week when Johnny Connor announces out of the blue that he and new wife Jenny are off to live in Spain.
And Johnny’s shock announcement is also a big surprise for the factory workers, who are desperate to get back to work after the robbery – and for Jenny herself.
And Johnny’s son Aidan isn’t over the moon either. In fact, he’s absolutely furious!

Since their unconventional but happy wedding at the side of Rita’s hospital bed, Johnny and Jenny have been struggling financially thanks to the factory being shut.
It’s been closed since charming Adam Barlow robbed it of all its equipment and obviously things have been tough for the Connors – money-wise and emotionally.
But next week Gemma will get a surprise when she comes across a cheque for £80,000 from the insurance company. Realising this means they can all get back to work, Gemma heads to the kebab shop and shares the news with Beth, Izzy and Aidan.
Beth and Izzy, both immediately confront Johnny Connor and demand to know when he’ll be reopening the factory now the insurance has coughed up.

But they’re left reeling when Johnny says he’s thinking about taking the cash and using it to fund his and Jenny’s retirement in Spain.
And Jenny’s surprised to hear the news too – seems her new hubby hasn’t shared his plans with her!
When Aidan finds out about his dad’s idea, he’s furious. After all, he runs the factory too.
Stewing over being left out of the decision making, Aidan decides it’s all Jenny’s fault and calls her a ‘gold-digger’. And when Johnny steps in to defend his missus, Aidan turns on him too.
Ouch. Looks like Spain might be a good option after all!
