Toyah Battersby isn’t ready to accept that her relationship with Peter Barlow is over in Coronation Street and next week she devises a plot to win him back.
A furious Peter will be seen storming out on Toyah this week when he discovers that the baby she’s been passing off as their daughter actually belongs to Eva Price and dead Aidan Connor.
The two women cooked up a plan when Toyah and Peter’s surrogate had a miscarriage and Eva discovered she was pregnant with Aidan’s baby, even though they’d they split up.
They planned for Eva to give birth secretly and then hand the baby over to Toyah who would pretend the surrogate had given birth.
But their plan all went a bit wrong when Aidan tragically took his own life last month, leaving Eva in a state over what to do about the baby.
The lies and deceit finally get too much for Toyah who comes clean and tells Peter the truth, before handing baby Susie over to her real mum.
But Peter won’t take the news well and will leave, telling Toyah he wants her to buy him out of the Rovers, which they bought together.
Toyah tells her step-sister Leanne Battersby that she isn’t ready to give up on her relationship though and lures Peter to the pub under the pretext of discussing the sale.
But she secretly sets up a meeting with a counsellor friend, hoping she’ll encourage Peter to give her another chance.
When the recovering alcoholic realises he’s been set up, he’s furious. It doesn’t look like he’ll be forgiving Toyah any time soon.
Later, Toyah tells him she’ll have to sell her half of the pub too as she’s been turned down by the bank for a loan. Does this mean we’ll be seeing a new landlord or lady behind the bar soon?
Various reports have suggested that Gemma Winter will be the new landlady after her ex-boyfriend and Newton & Ridley heir Henry Newton buys it to impress her.
The reports have also suggested that the couple will turn the legendary boozer into a posh wine bar.
