Former Coronation Street producer John Goldie Temple has passed away aged 84.
John, who began his work on the soap in the early 70s, died at a care home in Leicestershire on January 15 with his daughters by his side, according to the Herald Scotland.
Sally Dynevor, who plays Sally Webster on the ITV show, led the tributes as she thanked John for giving her the opportunity on Corrie.

She tweeted: “The wonderful John Temple gave me my opportunity on Corrie and I’m forever grateful #restinpleacelovelyman.”
Sally made her debut in 1986 when John was in charge.
According to the Coronation Street Updates fansite, John presided over some huge storylines during his time at Corrie, including the fire at the Rovers Return and the marriage of Bet Lynch (Julie Goodyear) to Alec Gilroy (Roy Barraclough).
John began his work on the ITV soap in the 1970s as a writer, penning around 200 episodes of the soap, before stepping into the role of producer from 1985 to 1987.

According to an obituary in the Herald Scotland, John described his early days on the soap as invaluable training for the top role.
“Those years working as a storyliner were the most beneficial period of my entire working life,” he said.
“The discipline of churning out storylines day in day out, 52 weeks of the year is an unbelievable learning curve.”
John has four children, David, Linda, John and Fiona, as well as 11 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
His wife Isabel passed away nearly three years ago after 66 years of marriage.
