Corrie’s Lucy Fallon takes a break from harrowing storyline to party on girls’ night out

She's been working so hard recently

Lucy Fallon took a break from her harrowing Coronation Street storyline to party up a storm with her best pals last night.

The 21-year-old actress, who plays Bethany Platt on the cobbles, let loose and danced the night away on Friday.

Looking lovely in red trousers and a white cropped t-shirt, the blonde star posed for a series of selfies in her bedroom, cuddled up to a puppy, then joined her besties for a night on the town.

The soap star posted one photo with the caption: “FriYay.”

She was taking a break from Bethany’s harrowing Corrie storyline to let her hair down at a nightclub, laughing and smiling as she documented the night out on Instagram.

Lucy has won plaudits from critics and viewers in recent months for her portrayal of teen Bethany’s ordeal at the hands of evil Nathan Curtis and his depraved sex ring.

Viewers are desperate for Bethany to get justice against the men – but shock pictures from the Corrie set last week suggest there could be another dark twist on the horizon.

Pictures from set suggested a body had been found at the side of train tracks, after cast and crew were seen filming scenes with police tape and a white tent hiding something by the side of the track.

The shock scenes came after Mel kidnapped Bethany and took her to a railway line, leaving fans nervous that Bethany could be killed off in a shock twist.

If so, it would be a devastating turn of events given Bethany’s only just starting to piece her life back together after her traumatic ordeal at the hands of Nathan, Neil and their evil friends.

Lucy recently told OK! magazine: “I’m so glad to be part of such an important storyline. By putting such a taboo subject on such a popular show, victims realise they can come forward.”

She has previously recounted how Corrie boss Kate Oates phoned her and requested she come in for a chat, leading Lucy to panic Bethany was getting killed off.

It was only when she met Kate she realised that she was to be involved in one of the soap world’s biggest storylines of the year.

Lucy told Fabulous magazine: “I was quite scared because I’ve only been on the show for two years, and even though I’ve had a lot of big storylines, this is the biggest and most controversial.

“Once Kate spoke to me and we’d done quite a bit of research, I realised how important it was. Then I was excited – if that makes sense – to do the story justice for real people who have been affected by it.”

Meanwhile, while Lucy’s involved in a dark and harrowing story on screen, off screen she’s loved up with boyfriend Tom Leech and is even talking marriage.

The couple have been together 18 months and moved into their first home at the start of the year.

Lucy told OK!: “[I’ve] definitely [met the one]. I know we’ll get married and have babies together.

“[But] that’s not going to happen for a long time. I’m only 21 and I’d like to get married when I’m 25 or 26.”

The star admitted, though, that she still sends Tom cheeky ring pictures so he knows just what type of bling she’d like when he does pop the question.

Tom said: “Marriage is definitely where we’re heading so I store images away for when I need them.”
