Coronation Street’s Ryan Prescott has dismissed the fan theory that his character Ryan Connor embarks on a romantic relationship with Ali Neeson.
ITV viewers thought they’d noticed a frisson of chemistry between Ryan and his adopted brother Ali (James Burrows).
But the actor is keen is quash those rumours, and insists it’s nothing more than sibling rivalry.

Last month, Corrie fans shared their interesting theory that would spell horror for Michelle Connor – her sons falling in love.
One tweeted: “It’s so obvious that Ryan and Ali are going to get together.”
Another wrote: “Called it ages ago, Corrie are going to make Ryan and Ali fall for each other. So obvious.”
While the pair aren’t related by blood – Ali is Michelle’s biological son, while Ryan was raised by her after a hospital mix-up – it would still make for a shocking storyline.

But Ryan told OK! Online: “That’s fabricated. I don’t know who came up with that.
“There is a lot to play with within the relationship and the dynamics between both, but it’s definitely more of a sibling rivalry going on through to brotherly friendship, and it could go either way.”
He added: “They’ve both got room to get to know each other a lot more, and they’ve both got room to kind of get on each other’s nerves a lot more.
“I definitely don’t see [a romance between them].”
He went on to say: “Just because there’s a lot of things with storylines that we do delve into and I think, two guys in their late 20s that have always been interested in girls, it would just be a little far-fetched if something happened between them, and it’s important as far as storylines go that we don’t clutch at ideas.”
Recently, Ryan enjoyed a brief coupling with Bethany Platt – until she suffered a panic attack and lashed out at her suitor.
While Bethany was just reacting to her horrifying ordeal at the hands of a grooming ring, Sarah presumed the worst when she saw her daughter upset.
Thinking Ryan had forced himself upon her, she flew into a rage and hit him…
Perhaps Ryan should avoid all romance from now on? Just saying!
