Countdown star Anne Robinson has broken her silence on her reported “feud” with co-star Rachel Riley.
Reports have suggested that Anne, 77, and Rachel, 35, have not seen eye to eye since the presenter joined the show in the summer.
And now Anne has broken her silence on the matter – and she gave a surprising answer.
What did Countdown host Anne Robinson say about the ‘feud’?
The Daily Mail reports that in a recent interview with Rachel Johnson, Anne was nothing but complimentary towards her colleagues Rachel and Susie Dent.
“They’re brilliant – both of them actually,” she told Rachel after she had asked if a feud exists.

“Every time I’m astonished how she [Rachel] does that adding up and subtracting – just seconds, absolutely seconds, amazing.’
Anne also added: “I hope I’m always described as difficult, awkward, tricky, impatient, menopausal, any sort of pejorative, grumpy.’
And asked if she was “bitchy”, Anne responded that she was “not particularly… hard to please.”
What were the rumours?
Rumours began to circulate earlier this month (November) that tensions were rising between long-standing stars Rachel and Susie, and new host Anne.
The Sun reported that Anne found chatting to contestants “hugely distracting”.
In a separate report, the same newspaper alleged that Rachel was ready to “walk away”.
How did Rachel respond to the allegations of tension between the two?
Rachel then appeared on Lorraine to address the so-called “feud”.
“I’ve seen the headlines of feuds escalating – I’ve been on maternity leave for about six to eight weeks,” she said.

Rachel went on to say that Anne isn’t the “cuddliest” person in the world but she’s making the show her own.
“She’s getting some stuff out of the contestants – sometimes it’s barbed, sometimes it’s funny.
“It’s just got a different flavour.”
