Dancing On Ice have announced the new celebrity who will be taking the place of injured cricketer Monty Panesar.
Singer Lemar, who made his name on Fame Academy, will be taking to the ice.
Confirming the news on their Instagram page, Dancing On Ice wrote: “R&B smoothie Lemar will be taking his place, and will be skating with our French firecracker of a pro, Melody.”
In a further post, they made a pun about one of the singer’s most famous songs writing: “Lemar will be taking Monty’s place in Dancing On Ice 2018, skating with Melody. What are his chances? Right about now we’re 50/50…”
Monty was forced to pull out of the show after reportedly breaking his ankle in training.

The painful injury means he will not be able to carry on with the show in which he had been paired up with French professional skater Melody.
Confirming the news on their Instagram account, Dancing On Ice said: “We are super sad to announce that owing to an injury sustained in training, Monty Panesar has had to withdraw from Dancing On Ice 2018.
“You’ll be sorely missed Monty – rest up and get better soon.”
The England cricketer is said to be devastated he’s had to pull out before getting to perform.
His fellow DOI colleagues have been posting get well wishes on Twitter.
Monty has been showing off training pictures on his Instagram account, and he seems to be really getting into the swing of the show.
He’s yet to post anything regarding his injury but a source gave more details to The Sun.
They said: “Monty suffered a nasty fall during training and has badly injured his ankle. It’s a quite serious fracture and he’s out of the competition.
“He’s been told there’s no way he can be part of the new series, which he’s absolutely devastated about.”.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will return as hosts, while Torvill and Dean join the judging panel with Jason Gardiner and Diversity’s Ashley Banjo.
