Many Dancing on Ice fans were delighted to see the return of all the sparkles, sequins and glitz when the show made its long-awaited comeback.
But some have been left underwhelmed by changes to the format.
The revamped judging panel, which saw Diversity’s Ashley Banjo come in as well as Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, is one thing viewers are split over.
Some think Torvill and Dean were better suited to mentoring the celebs than being judges.
But overall it’s been a big win after its four year hiatus – Holly and Phil can be proud!
It’s been so successful in fact, that ITV have already confirmed they’ll be bringing it back in 2019.
A statement today confirmed that the reality series has been recommissioned for another series after bringing in a whopping 7.8 million viewers per episode – once you factor in live overnight ratings plus a week’s worth of recorded TV playback.
Siobhan Green, Head of Entertainment Commissioning at ITV, said: “The show’s welcome back has exceeded our expectations and it’s been fantastic to see the audience at home loving it.
“The recommission is a no brainer and it’s brilliant for everyone involved to know it’ll be back next year.”
Phillip Schofield confirmed the news on This Morning, during a chat with Ruth Langsford who was appearing on Loose Women.

Phil asked any celebrities watching to “come play at our rink”, which led to Holly giggling: “What an invitation!”
And Ruth suggested that many of the Loose Women panel would be up for entering!
For this weekend’s show, DOI judge Ashley Banjo has said that Lemar has run out of chances, having survived two skate offs.
He even stumbled during last Sunday’s performance, but was permitted to stay at the expense of Stephanie Waring.

However, Ashley’s now told The Sun: “He’s been given enough chances. Lemar is now level pegging. If he’s in the dance off again I think he should go.”
