Gemma Collins has gone through something of a makeover since the start of Dancing On Ice – but she still has some intense moments of insecurity over her looks.
In an emotional video on her InstaStories, she told her followers: “I’ve never looked so ugly in all my life.”
Walking alongside her skating partner, Matt Evers, Gem continued: “I’ve never been so pale in all my life. Pasty.”
She added: “I’ve never looked so ugly in all my life.”
Skate pro Matt, 42, started to reassure her and she interrupted him to insist: “No Matt, I look really ugly.”
The 37-year-old TOWIE star also suggested her skin could do with more of a glow. “Oh God I’m in need of a spray tan,” she said.
Many of her fans felt she was being far too harsh on herself, with one commenting on her latest pic: “You looked stunning @gemmacollins1 and am so looking forward to watching your routine. I think you’re doing amazingly well and send out only positivity to lots of women. ❤️❤️❤️.”
Another said: “The GC is fabulous.” And a third wrote: “Always looking gorgeous.” While one more added simply: “Stunning 👏👏👏👏💖.”
She later joked about the headlines which recently accused her of delaying rehearsals for napping – a story that led to an awkward feud with presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, after they labelled her a “diva”.
In the video she said: “So guys, before anyone rings the papers, [we] actually have a 30-minute break, so I am going to take this opportunity to put a little blanket over me, and shut my eyes for 10 minutes. So I’m documenting it on the ‘Gram so no-one can say anything.”
Yawning, she added: “I’m exhausted. I’ve got to have a little catnap.”

Gemma has been working hard to prove her critics wrong since the start of the ITV skating series, admitting she has been brought to tears in training.
And it’s having an impact on her body, as Gemma also admitted on InstaStories that she was meeting with an expert to deal with multiple injuries.
The TOWIE star revealed: “Since doing Dancing On Ice I’ve got a torn rotator cuff and something’s happened to my knees, so I’ve had to call in a top physio.”
It follows her on screen feud with DOI judge Jason Gardiner last week.
