Dancing on Ice fans have slammed both Brooke Vincent and Jake Quickenden for making it to next weekend’s live final, claiming the show is ‘fixed’.
One viewer raged it is an “absolute crime” that Corrie star Brooke – who has been feeling the pressure of performing on the ITV show – has progressed to the series’ last stage, with others claiming the 25-year-old has made it there on the back of her popularity rather than her skill on the ice.
It’s a skating competition… not a popularity competition. Brooke is clearly the weakest skater. Fuming. #DancingOnIce

It is an absolute crime to ice skating that Brooke is through to the final #DancingOnIce

Meanwhile, on the show itself, Brooke was reduced to tears by judge Jason Gardiner’s comments about her Spice Girls routine which included 30 seconds of solo skating.
Jason said: “I think the choreography was great right up until the solo skate.
He continued: “It lacked content – content that we know that you are more than capable of delivering.”
Jason’s review was tame in comparison to the scoring on Twitter, however – viewers had made their mind up she wasn’t good enough on the rink.
WHAT A JOKE, BROOKE IM ALL FOR GIRL POWER BUT YOURE THE WORST SKATER NOOOO #dancingonice

I am genuinely worried that Brooke (the worst skater) is going to win the whole thing purely based on coronation street fans voting for her… #DancingOnIce

Even a routine set to Ariana Grande’s One Last Time, an anthem in Manchester following last year’s arena terror attack, failed to shift the idea other competitors were more deserving of a place in the final.
Nonetheless, the judges liked it, awarding a score of 34.5.
Jayne Torvill said: “It was my favourite routine so far it had speed and flow.”
And Christopher Dean added: “You did Manchester proud tonight, we loved the fact that you were enjoying it.”
The judges’ decisions came under further scrutiny when Jake Quickenden was given a round of 9.5 scores from Jayne, Christopher and Ashley Banjo – despite making two obvious errors.
Many fans wondered whether the judges had already decided to give Jake plenty of points after admitting they would have given the former X Factor star a perfect 10.
Seriously giving tens for that when there were two clear mistakes?! #DancingOnIce

#DancingOnIce sorry Jake not a ten…… judges have been gagging to give the top scores and 4 x 10 has made a mockery of this week’s programme……very very poor series and overall the standard has been nowhere near previous years…….

The ‘fix’ claims were not helped by Christopher suggesting Jake appearing in the final would “definitely happen”.
After Chris’s comment you will be in the final and Jayne wanted to give 10 sounds a fix. #dancingonice

@ITV #dancingonice Why bother voting Chris has already told us that Jake will be in the final. Which tells me even if he is in the bottom 2 he’ll be voted through by the head judges. #Fix #stealingviewersmoney

As it turned out, Jake did make the final, along with Brooke and rugby player Max Evans. Max survived a skate off with Love Island’s Kem Cetinay with the backing of all four judges.
