Gemma Collins has acquired a whole new set of fans – including the odd A-lister – during her time on Dancing On Ice, but an actual world leader might be aiming too high…
The TOWIE star shared a video on Instagram where she chats to her skating partner, Matt Evers about the US President, and begs: “Get Donald Trump over here. He needs to come and see me ice skate!”
The pair were discussing her shocking fall on the ice, live on last weekend’s show while dancing to It’s All Coming Back To Me Now by Céline Dion. Matt tells her: “You do understand how viral that fall has become? It’s not just the UK, it’s worldwide. Gemma has gone worldwide.”
The 42-year-old then says: “I do have a surprise for you, this came through this afternoon.”
As he prepares to play her a video message from Good Morning Britain presenter, Piers Morgan, the TOWIE star awkwardly gets excited for the wrong reason, saying: “Is it Celine Dion? It’s Celine Dion, innit? It’s Celine Dion, she’s seen it!”
When she sees the ITV host’s face pop up instead, Gemma sounds disappointed, saying: “Oh it’s Piers, hello Piers.”
The message shows the 53-year-old on the GMB set, telling the camera: “Keep sticking it to the judges, keep getting up when you crash to the ice. Keep being a great inspiration to all of us out there, who could not do what you do. Go for it.”
Gemma tells Matt: “God, that’s so touching, Piers Morgan…” She gets a little more excited when Matt tells her: “He’s friends with some of the world leaders.”
She gasps, replying: “You’re joking?” The skater laughs, explaining: “No, he’s got Donald Trump’s phone number in his pocket, yeah.”
Gemma screams: “WHAT? Get Donald Trump over here! He needs to come and see me ice skate!”

The Celebs Go Dating star clearly wasn’t over the disappointment, as she later shared the video, captioning it: “Celine …. Celine …..@celinedion 😝😝 it’s the wonderful @thepiersmorgan 💋💋@themattevers @dancingonice.”
Her 1.2m followers piled in to comment on the clip, with one writing: “Omg this is so funny 😂😂😂😂😂😂.” A second added: “I’m actually laughing again this is so funny.”
A third added: “It’s so funny she just assumed that that’s who it would be I think she’s her idol.” While a fourth commented simply: “Am howling.”
Piers quickly retweeted the clip, trying to pretend Gemma was excited to see him. He wrote: “The unmitigated joy when she realises it’s a REAL legend…”
