Come on, be honest – as much as you enjoy the tantalising tangos and the wondrous waltzes, the thing you like most about Strictly Come Dancing is the comedy bits.
We’re talking Ed Balls dancing to Gangnam Style like he was riding a horse in the Grand National. Or Ann Widdecombe rotating on the floor like a human fidget spinner.
And the show’s producers have tapped into our love of a good laugh by signing up a celeb for the new series who’s guaranteed to inject some hilarity into proceedings.
That celeb is none other than legendary TV presenter and comedian Brian Conley.
The 55-year-old is best known for hosting his own programme, The Brian Conley Show, in the Nineties. One of the characters he played in it was ‘Dangerous Brian’, a daredevil who attempted a series of ludicrous stunts.
He also fronted a daytime talent show for the BBC, Let Me Entertain You, in the Noughties.
At the peak of his fame, he was reported to be the highest-paid male television personality in the UK.

But he has also served his time on the pantomime circuit, appearing in everything from Mother Goose to Cinderella.
And no doubt it’s those slapstick skills that the Strictly producers will be hoping Conley brings to the annual dance-fest.
“Brian is all signed up for the show and is sure to be a laugh a minute,” a source told The Sun.
“He’s a born performer and really knows how to get a crowd going, given his years of experience playing Buttons in panto.
“From eating fire on Loose Women earlier this year to flashing his rear on The Wright Stuff – ‘Dangerous Brian’ certainly won’t be afraid to try anything on the Strictly dancefloor.
“He was addicted to the series last year and even came to watch the live shows to get some tips – he really can’t wait to get going.”

Londoner Brian will be hoping his stint on Strictly goes a bit better than his last foray into reality TV.
The married father-of-two lasted just ten days on 2012’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! before he had to be stretchered out of the jungle suffering from exhaustion and malnutrition.
In an interview with The Mirror in 2015, he seemed to mock TV talent shows, saying: “I don’t mind Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor, but something people forget is at the very core of it you do need a bit of talent.”
We can’t wait to see what he has to offer on the dancefloor!
