Strictly Come Dancing has faced yet more controversy as it’s claimed recently-axed contestant Danny John-Jules is refusing to attend the finale.
In fact, the actor – who left under a cloud of negative headlines – has reportedly said he is so unhappy with the way he’s been treated, he will “never return” to the series.
An insider told The Sun: “Danny is done with the show and has told bosses he won’t be appearing on the show finale, when all the former contestants usually return.
“He’s really unhappy with how he’s been treated and has told them he won’t be back. Nobody knows if he’ll show up for the final show.”
A representative for SCD told the Sun Online: “Every year all of our celebrities are invited back for the grand final at the end of the series. This year is no different and we look forward to reuniting them all once more.”
The star has reportedly been angered by claims of on-set bullying, when his dance partner, Amy Dowden was forced to deny feeling “threatened” by the Red Dwarf star. He later dealt with headlines about him lashing out at the judges.
The 58-year-old also retweeted a string of messages from fans who accused the show of a vendetta against him.
But he has also publicly praised Amy, after they became the seventh couple to leave the show, following a tense dance-off with Graeme Swann and his partner Oti Mabuse.
They hugged as the results were announced, and Amy shed tears.
He thanked her, saying: “Everything I’ve done in this show is because of Amy. She’s great… I love you.”
She told him: “Your children are going to be so proud of you, so well done.”
He also tweeted a lovely message about the Welsh dancer, writing: “I should have expressed my gratitude more often. You truly inspired me. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the knowledge I have taken away with me, curtesy of your good self. 🙏🏾💃🏻🕺🏾.”

It followed the actor’s no-show on Monday’s episode of It Takes Two.
Amy, 27, broke down during the interview with presenter, Zoe Ball, who handed her a box of tissues, telling her: “I know, it’s an emotional night.”
She smiled her way through the chat, where she praised Danny, saying: “I told myself I’m not going to cry tonight.”
Zoe confirmed Danny had “decided” not to attend the interview, adding to the camera: “Danny, so disappointed you couldn’t be here tonight.”
