EastEnders star Davood Ghadami has revealed that the gruelling dance schedule of Strictly Come Dancing has caused him to lose so much weight his clothes no longer fit.
Speaking to the Mirror Online at last night’s Pride of Britain Awards, the actor shared that competing on the show has introduced him to a new passion – dance.
Davood appeared at the awards alongside his Strictly dance partner, Nadiya Bychkova.

While being interviewed on the red carpet, he opened up about how much he’s enjoying his time on the show.
“I’m actually enjoying something I never thought I’d A. do or B. benefit from or find fun,” he said. “It’s jumping into the unknown, well out of my comfort zone.
“I’m looking forward to Saturdays, as long as we have enough time in the week. But it’s something I would love to keep doing.”
When he was asked about whether the show had affected his fitness, as it has for other contestants, he confessed he didn’t know for sure.
“I haven’t had time to step on the scales,” he said. “I have lost some mass. But I’ve been eating more than ever!”
He explained that his only metric for how the show was affecting his body was clothing.

“When you first go on [the show] you go into a fitting,” he said. “And with the Latin trousers I was given, we first did the cha cha and then we did a jive last week and they had to take them in.”
Davood and Nadiya – who performed a Rumba to Chris Isaaac’s Wicked Game over the weekend on Strictly’s Halloween special – have been doing pretty well on the show, a stint in the dance-off aside.
So all being well, Davood’s new hobby will continue for several weeks to come.
