Dec seen in Saturday Night Takeaway promo alone without Ant

Dec will host the last two episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway without Ant

| Updated:

Dec Donnelly goes solo in a new Saturday Night Takeaway promo ahead of the final two episodes of the show.

A video posted by Virgin Holidays, which is sponsoring the show’s big finale trip to Florida, features a clip of Dec alone on stage, presumably taken from a previous episode of the show.

The promo was posted to the company’s Twitter page on Wednesday, three days before Dec will host Saturday Night Takeaway by himself for the first time.

Ant, 42, has returned to treatment and stepped down from current TV work after his drink-driving charge last week.

The trailer revolves around Saturday Night Takeaway co-star Scarlett Moffatt, who is working as Virgin cabin crew on the flight to Florida.

It takes the form of a safety demonstration chat, with nods to the exciting trip ahead like overhead compartments filled with inflatable pool flamingo toys and a DJ on board.

At one stage, Scarlett asks the passengers not to be “distracted” when she is giving the safety talk, as the camera cuts to one person watching Saturday Night Takeaway on his mini plane seat screen.

That’s when Dec appears on screen solo for the briefest of moments.

This weekend’s Saturday Night Takeaway, broadcast live from the studio in London, will be the first time Dec has hosted the show by himself.

Dec will then go to Orlando, Florida to host the finale episode of the series solo from Universal Orlando Resort.

Fans have been sending Dec support over the last week, telling him they’ll be tuning in and cheering him on.

One tweeted: “Good luck for Saturday Dec…. we are all behind you  and watching from home.”

Another said: “Good luck Dec. Just remember you are not alone. We are all behind you every step of the way.”

A third added: ” Hi Declan, hope you’re having a great day and reversals going well. Really looking forward to Saturday Night Takeaway on Saturday just know you’re going to smash it.”

Dec said last week: “Whilst I never thought I’d be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we’ve decided that the remaining two shows of this series of Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead.”

“We made a promise to take hundreds of deserving winners to Florida to watch the series finale, and we will honour that.

“Everyone at ITV and the Takeaway team feels we owe it to the audience to complete the series.”

It’s been reported that Scarlett and fellow Saturday Night Takeaway star Stephen Mulhern will have ‘expanded’ roles in the last two episodes of the show.
