In a trailer shown across ITV’s channels for the upcoming series, Martin Clunes’ titular character is visited by the General Medical Council (GMC).
Doctor Hedden from the GMC tells Martin she’s in town to monitor his interaction with patients – which he famously isn’t well-known for!
A nurse at the hospital is also heard saying: “We’ll be sorry to see you go.”
And he’s also seen chatting to a Portwenn local, who says: “Well they’re getting rid of you, aren’t they?”
“No, you heard wrong,” Martin quickly informs them. But is he the one who’s wrong?
Surely they can’t get rid of the doctor?!
Fans – and show star Martin Clunes – will certainly be unhappy if the drama doesn’t return.
The actor previously told Digital Spy: “We love going to Cornwall to make Doc Martin and we miss it when we’re not there.
“The county is so beautiful and the people have been so warm and welcoming to us.”
