DOI’s Matt Evers furiously slams trolls for criticising Gemma Collins’ skating skills

Matt was having none of it!

Matt Evers has defended his Dancing On Ice partner Gemma once again after fans criticised her skating skills on the show.

Gemma, 38, found herself bottom of the leaderboard on Sunday night’s show, however, made it through to next week alongside Matt.

However, some people have accused Gemma of not being able to skate and Matt rushed to hit back at the critics with a clip of Gemma doing “inside three turns” during her routine at the weekend.

Alongside the video, Matt wrote: “Last time I checked… ‘ice skating’. These are actually called inside three 3 turns.

“Who ever says @missgemcollins ‘can’t skate’… she can.”

After one Twitter user accused Gemma of “holding onto” Matt and not skating on her own, Matt replied: “Please do your research and watch week 1, 3 and 4… she does plenty of skating on her own. Believe me, I know. I choreographed her.”

Replying to another person who accused Matt of “hauling” Gemma around on the ice, Matt said: “I am hired to skate with them. WITH THEM. How often do @torvillanddean separate in a routine?

“How much of a ballroom dance are the dancers separated? Have you ever watched actual ice dancing? Google is amazing. Please educate yourself about the show before you hate. Thank you.”

Another pointed out that fellow contestant Saara Aalto fell onto her head on the ice minutes before her performance and still did a good routine.

But Matt was quick to hit back: “So she can skate better than Gemma?? They both got out there and did the best they could. What’s your problem?”

Meanwhile, on Monday, Matt slammed claims the show is “fixed” after he and Gemma made it through to another week despite their low score.

Gemma blamed her poor performance on nerves after falling face first on the ice the weekend before.

After Gemma and Matt were saved by the public and Loose Women star Saira Khan was sent home, some viewers branded the show a “fix” with some pointing out host Phillip Schofield had told Gemma she’s got “next week” to improve before the results were revealed.

After Gemma broke down in tears, Phil told her: “We’ve got next week as well, so you’ve got the whole week now to pick it all back up again.”

His comments left some fans believing he had insider knowledge that Gemma would survive until next week’s show.

During an appearance on Heart Radio, Matt said: “This show is not fixed. I’ve done 11 series of this now and we’re checked by the government. People spend their hard earned money voting for us, there is no way the show is fixed.

“It’s 50% judges’ vote and 50% public. Period.”

Phil, 56, also slammed the claims on Twitter and branded their “conspiracy theory” as laughable.
