Poor Rebekah Vardy has had a torrid time recently, dealing with internet trolls who’ve bombarded both her and her family with abuse.
And the WAG, 35, appeared on today’s This Morning to discuss her ordeal with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.
But as if the past few months haven’t been bad enough, the mother-of-four found herself thrust into a rather cringeworthy exchange, as Eamonn appeared to argue with her over the cause of the vile comments.
And viewers quickly showed whose side they were on, slating Eamonn for his “awkward” interviewing technique.
The incident happened after Ruth asked Rebekah if she felt she’d been targeted because she’s married to a famous footballer – Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, 30.
The former PR girl quickly dismissed the suggestion, insisting it was more to do with the fact that she’s in the public eye.
But Eamonn wasn’t satisfied with that theory, and snorted: “A lot of it’s because you’re married to him, I can guarantee that.”
He then suggested that it’ll only get worse for Rebekah because Jamie has been linked with a move to Premier League champions Chelsea.

Rebekah managed to get the last word in, reiterating: “I think a lot of it is to do with the fact that people think they’ve got access to you 24/7, and because we’re in the public eye they can say what they want to.
“And that’s not just because I’m married to a footballer.”
But the whole episode left a bit of a sour taste in the mouth, and viewers clearly found the 57-year-old presenter’s approach insensitive.
One tweeted: “Awkward interview with Rebekah Vardy on #ThisMorning. Have some sympathy, Eamonn!!”
Another remarked: “@RebekahVardy Was it me, or was Eamonn very prickly then?”
And a third said: “Eamonn Holmes is a really insensitive interviewer #thismorning.”
Earlier this week, Rebekah revealed that she’d been forced to alert the police after Instagram trolls posted sexual messages about her two-year-old daughter, Sofia. She herself has also been threatened with violence and rape.

In a new Channel 5 documentary, Celeb Trolls: We’re Coming To Get You, she confessed: “I feel like I don’t want to go out of the house, like I don’t want to go anywhere that someone would recognise me, especially if I’m with my children.”
Rebekah and Jamie have two kids together – Sofia and a seven-month-old boy called Finley – while Rebekah also has an 11-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son from previous relationships.
