Eamonn Holmes has branded This Morning execs “sly” following his dramatic axing from the programme.
The veteran telly star, 62, and his wife Ruth Langsford were sensationally dropped from the show in December 2020.
Their last day came nine months later, in August last year.

But speaking out, Eamonn has claimed he wasn’t even told why he was being given the boot.
Speaking to the Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine, the Irish broadcaster claimed: “No one explained anything to me. I’m all for TV companies being able to choose who works for them, but it would be nice if you were told why you were going.”
Eamonn has even described show execs as “sly”.
He also claimed: “They didn’t want to announce that I’d been dropped because it would adversely affect audience figures, so they made it look as if I’d walked away from them rather than the other way round.”
ITV reacts to Eammon’s claims
An ITV spokesperson, however, told ED!: “This isn’t a version of events that we recognise and as we have said before we wish Eamonn all of the very best.”
Meanwhile, a This Morning source has also rebuffed Eamonn’s claims.
An insider told us: “It absolutely was explained what the plans for the show moving forward were.
Eamonn and Ruth as a duo were still part of the This Morning family and it was Eamonn’s choice to leave for a new job
“The key to successful long-running shows like This Morning are that they need to constantly evolve and introducing Alison and Dermot to the main presenter mix were part of the change that we wanted.”
They added: “Eamonn and Ruth as a duo were still part of the This Morning family and it was Eamonn’s choice to leave for a new job.”
Eamonn Holmes leaves This Morning in ‘dramatic shake up’
Eamonn and Ruth had presented on This Morning for 15 years before they left the show.
The married couple had hosted the Friday instalment and covered for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willougby’s holidays.

But they were dramatically let go in a shake-up and replaced by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond.
Eamonn, meanwhile, has also taken a swipe at Phillip in his Weekend interview.
Taking aim at his former This Morning co-star, he has branded him “passive-aggressive”.
He has also slammed him for “rudely” cutting wife Ruth off during a 2019 Loose Women segment with This Morning.
