EastEnders actress Lisa Hammond is leaving her role as Donna Yates in the BBC One soap, it’s been announced.

The star, who’s played Donna for four years said of her departure: “It’s been so great to play Donna for the past four years.

“I’ve made lifelong friends at EastEnders and will really miss all of the brilliant cast and crew who have always been a pleasure to work with!

“I look forward to what the future brings.”

Lisa joins an ever-growing list of EastEnders stars departing the show this year.

It’s already been announced that Richard Blackwood and Jenna Russell are bowing out of their roles as Vincent Hubbard and Michelle Fowler.

Lee Ryan who plays recently returned bar manager Woody Woodward will be leaving Walford for good.

And Maggie Steed who played Joyce Murray left the show recently as her character tragically died in her sleep.

We’ve also recently said goodbye to Abi and Lauren Branning and Ben Mitchell.

There’ll be no one left at this rate!

Since arriving on the Square Donna has been involved in some controversial storylines including asking her married foster brother Vincent to father a child with her.

She’s recently embarked on a romance with Robbie Jackson but now it looks like his heart could be broken again.

A spokesperson for EastEnders said: “We can confirm Lisa will be leaving EastEnders in the coming months. Lisa has been a fantastic addition to the cast and she will be missed. We wish her all the very best for the future.”
