EastEnders fans reckon there could be a shock romance twist coming up for Shirley Carter and Ian Beale of all people!

They came to this unlikely pairing after seeing Shirley deliver Ian a number of acerbic one-liners during last night’s episode and predicted sexual tension could be behind it.
The residents of Walford came together to support Stacey Fowler and Big Mo after news spread that Kat Slater was dead.
They all joined forced to come up with ways to make money to pay for Kat’s funeral, but Shirley and Ian couldn’t agree on anything.
Fans came to the conclusion that there could be something saucy behind their clashes.
They took to Twitter to share their predictions that Shirley might be harbouring some feelings for Ian.
“Shirley and “Beale”: I can feel the sexual tension from here,” said one viewer.
Another added: “The way Shirley & acting you’d think they were at school.”
A third wondered: “Looool why is Shirley fully getting onto Ian?”
The usual answer in Soap Land is because they’ve caught feels for them…

Other fans thought that Shirley just genuinely doesn’t like the chip shop king.
Elsewhere viewers were left cringing as Stacey and Martin Fowler discussed their shenanigans on Dot Branning’s kitchen table the night before.

And Jean Slater made a return to the Square, leaving Stacey shocked when she said that Kat couldn’t be dead as she’d spoken to her that day.
We all know that Kat will make a comeback later this week – is Stacey starting to realise something isn’t quite right??
