EastEnders fans hit out as they believe the show has “messed up” again

Longest. Day. Ever.

Kathy Beale’s ultimate nightmare came true in EastEnders tonight when James Willmott-Brown headed into the cafe and tried to make peace with her over their past.

But it wasn’t their tense confrontation that got viewers talking – it was the fact that it’s STILL Halloween in Walford despite it being almost a week after the event.

The sleazy villain, who famously raped Kathy back in the 80s, told her that he was dying of liver cancer and wanted to put things right while he still could.

But while Kathy thought he might finally confess to his crime – something which he has never done, claiming the sex was consensual – confessions weren’t on Willmott-Brown’s mind as he still refused to accept he’d raped her.

A tearful Kathy, who had secretly grabbed a knife in case he went for her, then proceeded to talk him through the night in question, detail by detail.

She described how she took a drink from him as she didn’t want to appear rude, and followed him to his flat above the Dagmar where they both worked for the same reason.

But even after she finished explaining the night to her former employer, he was still in denial about raping her – refusing to apologise, or even acknowledge it.

Elsewhere, Tina comforted Billy after she found him trying to find out what had happened to Janet.

But she took the comforting a step too far when they ended up sharing a passionate kiss (gross) in the Vic beer cellar.

Billy was distraught, thinking he’d lost Honey who’d thrown him out when he accused her of not really loving their daughter. Not sure this is the way to win her back, Bill.

But viewers were distracted by the fact that, in Walford, it’s still October 31st. That’s a whole week now.

Trick or treaters interrupted Kathy and Willmott-Brown in the cafe, while Billy asked another group of fancy-dressed youngsters if they’d seen anything when Janet was hit.

Talk about dragging it out.

Many fans told how the soap had gone on so long it had missed bonfire night, and others asked if Halloween was going to last until Christmas!

Ah well, tomorrow is another day – we hope!
