Jane Beale’s Mysterious Exit from EastEnders: Is She Safe or in Danger?

Where is she?

| Updated:

In Friday night’s EastEnders Jane Beale was seen getting a cab away from Walford leaving her husband Ian and her life there behind all on Max Branning’s orders.

But all wasn’t as it seemed as she made a secretive phone call to Ian from the taxi.

And as the search begins for her next week, viewers are starting to think finding her won’t be all that easy…

After Jane jumped into the taxi, she quickly called Ian and said: “Oh god, Ian, I’m sorry.

“I’m so sorry I had to leave like that, I had to fake it. This is going to sound crazy, but we were being watched.

“I don’t exactly get what’s going on but I don’t know who we can trust.”

Next week, Ian is frantically trying to track Jane down and his mum, Kathy Beale, is getting increasingly concerned for him. He still doesn’t know Max is involved and Ian is getting increasingly worried.

But given Jane told him she’d be in touch as soon as it was safe, something makes us wonder why she hasn’t got in touch – is she not safe? Has Max got to her again? Or has something more sinister happened?

Fans certainly seem to think so – and they are sure they know who’s behind it too…

They are convinced the taxi driver taking Jane away from Walford is dodgy and in on the whole thing!

There was a very pointed scene where the cabbie looked at Jane through the rear-view mirror.

It could have been that the show were just trying to heighten Jane’s paranoia as she stated she didn’t know who she could trust.

But it could also be that the taxi driver has been paid by Willmott-Brown to dispose of Jane – or at least lock her up somewhere until his plan is complete.

Has a terrible fate befallen Jane? Is she locked in a cellar somewhere like Corrie’s Andy Carver?

Let’s hope we find out soon before anything too serious happens to her – unless it already has…
