When Stacey mentioned “three little words” to Martin Fowler in last night’s EastEnders (Tuesday 20 March), fans could have been forgiven for hoping those words were “I love you”.
They certainly weren’t expecting Stacey to say: “Dot’s kitchen table.”
As it became clear that Stacey and her ex-Martin had indulged in some “grief sex” on Dot Branning’s kitchen table, fans were quick to react – and it sounded a lot like a collective ‘ewwwwww’.
On Monday, BBC viewers had seen the estranged pair begin to kiss passionately on Dot’s table… And mercifully, that’s all they saw.

However, in the next episode, EastEnders fans had the gaps filled in by a rather X-rated conversation courtesy of Martin and Stacey in the cafe.
And it turns out that the former couple – who split up after Stacey’s affair with Max Branning – did something that would shock poor Dot to the very core!
Talking about their “grief sex” on the table, stall owner Martin joked: “I thought the legs were going to fall off!”
But Stacey, clearly not as proud of the event as Martin, replied: “It should never have happened!”
Smitten Martin, who clearly hoped for a better response, quickly replied: “Yeah. It was grief sex, just that, grief sex.”

When Stacey responded by asking: “What makes you think it was grief sex? I mean, what is the difference between that and married sex?”
A cocky Martin answered: “I think you found out yesterday!”
Some soap watchers were left a tad grossed out by the exchange and shared their sentiments on Twitter.
One joked: “If you have been affected by Martin Stacey romp call the helpline #eastenders.”
Another said: “Urgh, no one needs to see Martin & Stacey’s kitchen sex.”
And one spoke for Dot, when they said: “Talk about unhygienic! The kitchen is not the place for that, Martin and Stacey!”

Many fans would love this popular pair to get back together, but Stacey herself addressed this when she said: “I can’t even think about me and you right now. If there even is a me and you.”
Stacey is still reeling from the news that Kat Slater is dead. Although we all know she isn’t really.
We wonder if Stacey and Martin might embark on some ‘celebration sex’ when they realise Kat is very much alive and kicking?
