Big Mo has only been back in Albert Square a matter of weeks, and already the Slater matriarch has caused all sorts of mischief…
And we don’t mean clingfilm-over-the-toilet-seat-pranks, we mean telling the whole of Walford that Kat Slater is dead (when she isn’t).
EastEnders viewers will soon see Kat’s reaction to her own ‘death’ when she arrives back in East London expecting a welcome back hug – and instead arrives at her own wake!

But why DID Big Mo tell everyone Kat had been killed in a boating accident in Ireland? Actress Laila Morse has given a hint as to the truth…

In quotes printed in Digital Spy, veteran actress Laila – real life sister to Hollywood A-lister Gary Oldman – says: “Since I’ve been back, I think Mo’s about the same but I think she’s got a little bit more devious. She’s always a crafty person.”
She went on to tease: “I do know [why], but I don’t know whether I’m supposed to tell you that. But it’s not very nice, let’s put it that way.”
Laila added that Big Mo “likes earning a few quid” and “would go quite a long way to get a few bob”, so could it all be an insurance scam?
The Slaters were devastated when Big Mo dropped the bombshell about Kat’s ‘tragic’ death, and didn’t know who to believe when Jean Slater arrived back in Walford (Tuesday 20 March) with a little truth bomb of her own – she’d spoken to Kat that very day!
In an interview with the Radio Times, actress Gillian Wright – who plays Jean – hints there are “secrets being hidden…”
Well, this is the Slater clan we’re talking about – of course there are secrets!
So what IS going on? We’ll have to wait until Thursday night’s double bill (22 March) to get the full story. Just one more sleep!
