Up until now he hasn’t known she’s another Slater – his estranged wife Stacey’s cousin – so he has a huge shock when he calls round to see Stacey and Hayley marches down the stairs.

He’s actually popped round to talk to Stacey about their marriage and – just as she confesses she still loves him and it looks like the feeling is mutual – Hayley pops up and ruins everything.

Stacey has been struggling to tell Martin how she feels but eventually manages to blurt the words out to him before the massive bombshell hits.

And Martin doesn’t take the news well. Not at all.

When he discovers they’re cousins and Hayley helped set him up with the police when he was late bringing the kids back to Stacey, he is absolutely livid and storms out of the house.

Stacey is furious with Hayley and is even more insistent that she isn’t welcome in Walford.

But she’s also heartbroken with the chances of a reunion with Martin looking pretty slim after this revelation.

Meanwhile Martin joins his ex-wife Sonia for a meal and – after getting some advice from Kush – gets ready to talk to her about giving things another go.

But is Martin’s heart really with Sonia?

Sonia encourages him to move on and even suggests he goes away for a bit to clear his head.
