Keegan Baker seeks revenge after Shakil Kazemi’s death in EastEnders

Please, no!

As Walford mourns the death of teenager Shakil Kazemi, one resident is planning to spill more blood.

Keegan Baker is plotting revenge against his best friend’s killer and, if he gets his way, there’ll be another mother left without a child somewhere in East London.

Both Shakil and Keegan were brutally stabbed by a gang of thugs in tragic scenes that played out at the beginning of this week.

While Shakil lay dying in a pool of his own blood, Mick Carter sped Keegan to the hospital and he was saved at the last minute.

Now, Keegan must battle his own feelings of anger, guilt and injustice – but can he avenge his friend’s death without becoming another knife crime statistic?

Of course, viewers know that Keegan was in part responsible for his friend being targeted…

Keegan stole a bike belonging to the gang and, when Shakil did the right thing by returning it, he was like a lamb to the slaughter.

Tragically, Carmel lost her son. But does it have to be ‘life for life’ as Keegan seems to believe?

In scenes that aired on Tuesday (29 May), Keegan was seen trying to find out who was responsible for killing his friend.

However, both worried mum Karen and brother Keanu cottoned on to Keegan’s suspicious behaviour and suspected the worst.

Can they stop Keegan from potentially throwing away his whole future for an act of revenge?

In scenes to air next week, Keegan DOES discover the name of the attacker – but can someone stop him from making the biggest mistake of his life?

In an interview with the Radio Times, actor Zack Morris admits his character Keegan will never be the same again.

“For Keegan it just bubbles up until he’s about to erupt,” he admits. “It’s like what happened when Mitch left – there was a build-up of emotion and he lashed out.

“So he’s a lot more emotional, there’s a lot less bravado and front. It’s not something you can just move on from.”

And what advice would he give Keegan? He says: “Keegan needs to realise that every action has a consequence, so think before you act.”
