EastEnders legend, Gillian Taylforth, has reassured fans of the BBC One soap that they will see a huge turnaround under the guidance of John Yorke.
Yorke, who was a former executive producer of ‘Enders, re-joined the soap earlier this year as Creative Director, following the departure of former boss, Sean O’Connor.

And Gillian, who plays Kathy Beale, is full of praise for her new boss.
Speaking to Digital Spy at the Inside Soap Awards, she said: “We’ve got some brilliant stuff coming up.
“Not just for me, but for the show as a whole. The wonderful John Yorke’s back and it’s really going upwards and upwards.”
She jokingly added: “So beware, you soaps – we’re coming back with a vengeance!”
Now there’s a stark warning.
It’s thought that Yorke’s storylines will kick in within the next few weeks.
He’s already made some big and controversial changes to the cast, axing Jacqueline Jossa, Lorna Fitzgerald and Harry Reid – AKA the Branning sisters and Ben Mitchell.
Masood Ahmead (Nitin Ganatra) is making a return to the soap, a year after leaving, and will be joined by a new branch of his family.
Yorke has also brought back EastEnders fan favourite, Melanie Owen, (played by Tamzin Outhwaite) so we’re expecting great things from him.
Gillian also teased some exciting stuff coming up at Christmas, adding: “We’ve got some great stuff for Christmas and we’re all involved in it.
“There’s a big thing with all the cast so you’ll be really surprised. I think you’ll really like it.”
Sounds like EastEnders is ready to come back fighting after a disappointing year for the soap at the awards.

Emmerdale scooped the top prize for Best Soap, and ‘Enders only walked away with two gongs – sexiest male for Davood Ghadami and an outstanding achievement award for Gillian.
