After what can only be described as a turbulent time on EastEnders, Scott Maslen has spoken out and praised boss John Yorke for returning the show to its former glory.
The actor, who plays Jack Branning in the soap, took to Twitter to tell his legion of followers that the returning Executive Producer had brought EastEnders “back to where it needs to be” in the lead up to some highly anticipated episodes over Christmas.

Up until now the subject of EastEnders’ declining ratings has been somewhat taboo between the cast – but with John back at the helm of the show, fans have been thrilled with the big Max Branning reveal over the last week.
Scott was forced to post a second message quickly after the first, thanks to an autocorrect mishap, but in his second post he also thanked the EastEnders crew for all their hard work, as well.
Scott also praised his fellow cast members in his Tweet – as well as the show’s writers.
Fan’s replied to Scott’s Tweet in their droves – all agreeing that this new era for EastEnders has left them on the edge of their seats…
John Yorke, who is renowned for iconic storylines such as Who Shot Phil Mitchell, has stepped up the gears in the lead up to the festive season, and we’ve been promised a Christmas we’ll never forget as the Max Branning thread is bought to a head.

Among the big decisions so far made by the producer are the castings of Patrick Bergin as Aidan Maguire and Hannah Spearritt as Kandice Taylor.
He is also responsible for the departures of Jacqueline Jossa who plays Lauren, Lorna Fitzgerald who plays Abi, and Harry Reid, who plays Ben.
John is also set to bring back Tamzin Outhwaite as Mel Owen, Maisie Smith as Tiffany Butcher, and Nitin Ganatra, who will be back on our screens shortly with his aunt Mariam and uncle Arshad.
