It’s fair to say that since finding out his ex-girlfriend Debbie Dingle was behind the horrific acid attack that’s left him scarred for life, Ross Barton has been pretty angry.
More salt was rubbed in the wound when he then discovered she was back with Joe Tate, the very man who the attack was actually meant to be for.
And the knife was twisted even further when he found out that Joe had paid Simon McManus – who actually threw the acid – to keep Debbie’s name out of it.
So, when it comes to Debbie, Ross really has something of an axe to grind.
Despite having – accidentally – shot Debbie, leaving her life hanging in the balance, he still doesn’t feel like she’s paid for what she’s done to him.
Next week sees him tell Cain that he wants him and Debbie to sign ownership of the garage to him – or he’ll go to the police about her role in the acid attack.
Debbie is stunned and doesn’t know what to do for the best, but Cain tells Ross they won’t be signing the garage over and offers him joint partnership instead.
Will Ross take Cain’s offer? Or will he go to the police about Debbie?
Ross was attacked back in February when Debbie paid Simon McManus to ‘wipe the smile’ from Joe’s face.
Simon took her instructions a little too literally and plotted to throw a corrosive substance over Joe, but in an unfortunate case of mistaken identity, Ross got hit instead.
Since then he’s been on a mission of self-destruction, getting hooked on prescription painkillers, dealing drugs and generally not being very nice at all.
But his lowest point of all was when a tearful Debbie confessed that the acid attack had been her fault all along, leaving Ross absolutely heartbroken.
He told Debbie that she is dead to him now. But does he really mean it?
Mike Parr who plays troubled Ross recently opened up about his departure from the soap and what’s in store for him before he goes.
The actor has revealed that the soap is set to explore the psychological torment faced by Ross in the wake of the acid attack.
He also has to come to terms with recently finding out that former girlfriend Debbie Dingle was behind the atrocity.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk on the Soap Awards red carpet about Ross’ immediate future, Mike said: “Obviously we’re going to have to deal with the psychological damage.
“He’s had this done to him, but he was so focused on the revenge aspect to it, he’s not had a change to look at where his mental state is at.

“So I think we’re going to explore that aspect which is a very, very important aspect to explore.”
Talking about his exit storyline, Mike clearly wasn’t about to give anything major away…
However he did joke: “It’s a little way off, so I don’t yet know how I’m going to be written out.
“But I’ve heard talk of a nuclear bomb. I don’t know if that’s true. But Ross is the one who pushes the red button.”
