Emma Willis branded a ‘snake’ from cruel trolls after sharing photo on Instagram

Host is the latest to get the serpent treatment.

| Updated:

It seemed like a perfectly innocent picture – Celebrity Big Brother presenter Emma Willis snuggling into her old buddy Dermot O’Leary’s shoulder as both parties beamed with contentment.

Alongside the photo – posted by Emma on her Instagram page – were the words: “Huggin it out with the best hugger on telly… so good to see you @radioleary.”

A sweet moment, indeed, and fans were out in force to show their appreciation.

But evidently, some people took offence at the impromptu show of affection, and those dreaded snake emojis – beloved of certain Trisha Paytas fans – were soon rearing their head.

The slithery characters have popped up rather a lot in the past couple of weeks.

Katie Price’s Instagram page was bombarded with them after the former model appeared on Big Brother’s Bit On The Side and described Paytas as “weak” for quitting the Channel 5 show last week.

And in Katie’s case, it wasn’t just snakes she was inundated with – trolls also targeted her children, with one describing her son Harvey as “the most disgusting thing I have ever seen”.

One fan of the YouTube sensation warned Price: “Don’t mess with Trish!”

And Sarah Harding is another whose Instagram page has been infiltrated by the serpents.

It would seem that Paytas is no big fan of the troubled Girls Aloud singer – after the former quit CBB, she launched a scathing attack on her former housemate.

Speaking on a YouTube video, she claimed: “Something hasn’t been revealed on the show that I know about Sarah Harding. Nothing too personal but all I know is she’s in for a rude awakening when she comes out of that house.

“I have so much inside information on her. I’m not going to say it, because they don’t expose it.

“The [expletive] they do in that house is shady as [expletive] and they cater toward Sarah and it’s some shady-[expletive] [expletive] that would not fly in America, that’s all I’m going to say about that.”

And fans of the US star have shown allegiance to their idol by ‘snaking’ Harding’s page, in response to a quote the singer had posted: “Those who hurt you will eventually face their own karma.”

So what exactly has Emma Willis done to deserve this unwanted attention?

Well, some fans were left fuming on Friday after the first round of evictions were screened half an hour earlier than scheduled – but that was hardly Emma’s fault.

Maybe the trolls targeted her because she just so happens to front a programme that Trish had criticised.

Either way, we imagine it’s only a matter of time before they set their sights on someone else…
