Celebrity Big Brother returned last night with an all-female cast for the first time and host Emma Willis momentarily lost her wits in all the excitement.
The presenter made an embarrassing blunder during the first live trial after she left her microphone behind, which she needed for her next link outside the house.
She was then seen having to race back across the studio to get it, to the confusion of the stars including Boris Johnson’s sister Rachel and Tory MP Anne Widdecombe.
Emma made the mistake after leaving the celebrities to tackle the task which involved mending a switchboard in pairs in order to win immunity from the first vote off.
After waving goodbye to the stars, the cameras were left on the new housemates making dull chit-chat to cover for the fact Emma wasn’t ready yet to do her next link.
“She’s back!” a surprised Amanda Barrie then said as Emma was seen running across the studio in front of them waving her spangly mic in the air and laughing at her mistake.
As she then caught her breath outside finally in place to do her next link with the mic in hand, she said as she rolled her eyes: “So, they can mend a switchboard but I can’t remember the ONE thing that I need!”

Viewers said they were laughing out loud at the gaffe, with one saying Emma’s run should be made into a gif.
The rest of the launch went without a hitch as Emma welcomed eight female housemates to the new series.
The full line-up is Corrie actress Amanda Barrie, MP Anne Widdecombe, MiC star Ashley James, broadcaster India Willoughby, Ex On The Beach’s Jess Impiazzi, former Detective Constable Maggie Oliver who involved in exposing the Rochdale sex ring, Khloe Kardashian’s BFF Malika Haqq and journalist Rachel Johnson.
The all-female house was done to celebrate the 100th anniversary since women were given the right to vote thanks to hard years of campaigning.
