Emmerdale fans have been left disappointed over the recent storyline revolving around Amelia Spencer’s abduction.
In scenes shown last night (Wednesday 4 July), Amelia’s abductor was finally arrested after a dramatic showdown with hero-without-a-cape Bernice.

A few days earlier, fans had been relieved when Amelia was found – but not for the reasons you might think!
Viewers tuned in to discover the outcome of the kidnapping storyline which has dominated the soap since last month.
We saw Beth finally being arrested for manipulating and snatching Amelia, but the 11-year-old schoolgirl still insisted that her groomer was innocent.
Watchers were full of praise for Bernice’s detective skills in tracking down Beth and getting her to reveal everything about targeting Amelia as a way of avenging her dad – the man Daz accidentally shot during an army training exercise.

However others were just glad the “boring”, “absurd” and “ridiculous” storyline was over.
One exasperated viewer wrote: “This Amelia story really is absurd. That are they thinking with this garbage?”
Another said: “Daz is great. Dan is annoying. Amelia storyline so poor. Let it be over for good.”

A third agreed, adding: “This Amelia abduction storyline has not been #emmerdale’s finest hour has it? #soboring.”
Others believe Amelia is too smart to have been taken in by the older girl, while some viewers wished they’d seen more background to the relationship between Amelia and Beth.
It’s not over yet, though, as Amelia is still very much under the influence of her abductor and believes they are friends. Crucially, she believes that Daz is guilty of murder.
Will brainwashed Amelia accept the truth that Beth isn’t innocent? And will she forgive her own dad Daz for his part to play in the tragedy?
