Emmerdale viewers became increasingly upset last night as they watched Belle Dingle break down after hearing voices in her head.
The troubled teen, played by Eden Taylor-Draper, has struggled with her mental health in the past – and fans are heartbroken that she seems to be having a relapse after her mum Lisa left the village.
In scenes that aired on Thursday (19 April), Belle was seen refusing to tell her dad Zak where Lisa has gone, and Sam wanted to know why.
During a fraught argument, Sam shouted at his sister – but viewers could hear a female voice whispering Belle’s name over and over.
The voice then said: “Belle, Belle – you can’t ignore us.”
It also told Belle that Sam and Lydia both hated her, and that she should have stopped Lisa from leaving the village.
Understandably, the poor girl looked terrified.
Fans, meanwhile, were heartbroken on her behalf.
Was that Belle hearing voices again?! 😲 #Emmerdale

While a third said: “I really hope Belle hearing voices gets resolved fast . I don’t want her to suffer like she did before.”
Emmerdale fans know that the voice belongs to Gemma Andrews, Belle’s best friend who she accidentally killed when she was a child.
She was sent to a young offenders unit and returned to the village afterwards as a completely changed person.
Eventually, she was diagnosed with schizophrenia and sectioned after trying to take her own life.
Luckily Lachlan has noticed her condition, and has begged her to seek help – but will she listen?
