The girls were left in an unfortunate position when Gabby’s plan to spike Daz Spencer’s pint with ketamine stolen from vet Vanessa Woodfield’s bag backfired when Lisa Dingle accidentally picked up the wrong drink.

The mistake led to her being rushed to Hotten General where she suffered a heart attack while the rest of the Dingle clan watched on helplessly.

A panicked Liv confessed to Gabby she was terrified of being found out as the Dingles would be furious at her for almost killing their matriarch.

Gabby initially told her friend to keep quiet, but when the police came looking for the schoolgirls at the hospital, Gabby stepped forward and confessed it was all down to her and that Liv knew nothing about it.

Fans were stunned by the selfless act from Gabby, who usually isn’t quite so generous – despite being the daughter of a vicar.

“Gabby took the blame for Liv,” observed one soap watcher, complete with shock-face emojis.

Another stunned viewer said: “Gabby ‘actually’ taking some responsibility. #Emmerdale”

A third added: “WOW, wasn’t actually expecting Gabby to confess (even if she didn’t actually give Lisa the drug)”

And a fourth tweeted: “This is the first time I remember Gabby doing the right thing.”

Following Gabby’s confession, she was arrested while the Dingles looked on with shock as the police led her away.

But no one was more shocked than Liv who was clearly not expecting her pal to step up like that.

With Liv having more of a conscience than Gabby however, it’s only a matter of time before Aaron’s little sister confesses she was behind the spiking.
