Emmerdale fans wonder how Ross Barton was released from hospital 24 hours after being diagnosed with life-threatening sepsis

Ross was fighting for his life one minute, and fine a short time later and viewers are confused

Ross Barton has had some terrible luck in Emmerdale, but it appears that’s all changed and viewers are confused.

The mechanic has had his dad and brother killed by his mother and is currently suffering from the aftermath of a horrific acid attack.

Earlier this week Ross was the subject of a cruel prank by a group of women who hit on him, mocking his acid attack scars.

It sent him on a spiral of booze, pills and staying out all night on the side of a lake.

Unfortunately that also gave him a deadly infection that saw him collapse.

Rushed to hospital by his brother Pete, the doctor explained that Ross had become septic and was fighting for his life.

Viewers watched terrified as Ross was pumped full of antibiotics to fight the infection and save his life.

However, just a day later, he was perfectly healthy and walking out of the hospital.

And it was a miracle too far for some viewers.

One wrote: “Ross in Emmerdale made the fastest recovery from sepsis EVER. 24 hrs and done.

“My dad was on i.v a.biotics for 6/52 and was critically ill.”

“@emmerdale missed a chance to educate about Sepsis tonight weak storyline about Ross having infection going through this at the moment not realistic about doctor dismissal of his need for pain relief,” said a second.

A third tweeted: “I was hoping #emmerdale @emmerdale was going to have a better representation of #sepsis with the #Ross storyline after the touch with it when #aaron had it for self harming but the mention I guess is also awareness @UKSepsisTrust

A fourth added: “@emmerdale what a shocking portrayal of Sepsis!

“Not realistic at all! This illness needs tv coverage from a top soap like yourselves but needs doing properly!!!”

Another wrote: “Bloody hell @emmerdale I wish I could have got over sepsis that quickly!! Get your facts right for storylines please.”
