There were heartbreaking scenes in Emmerdale last night, as brain-damaged Rebecca White handed over baby Seb to Robert.
Rebecca had discovered she isn’t like to recover from her brain-damage and she was worried she was a danger to her tot.
So she made the decision to give him to his dad for the foreseeable future.
But fans weren’t impressed with this latest twist in the Robron/Rebecca story and even said it was “sexist” and “homophobic”
“Biphobic,” said one fed-up viewer. “Well done Emmerdale, you should have used Robron in a more progressive sl.”
And another said: “You have got the LGBT couple to have a baby through the walking womb. Homophobic, biphobic and misogynistic.”
“It’s an awful misjudged storyline and unfortunately it plays to the stereotypes that same sex couple can’t raise a family without cheating/heteronormative relations,” said another viewer.

But Emmerdale wasn’t taking the criticism lying down. Instead the show tweeted: “That’s not the story we’re telling.”
That wasn’t good enough for fans, though.
“That may not be the story you think you’re telling but if you listen to your audience, that’s how it’s coming across,” one pointed out.

And when another fan asked: “Would you care to clarify what story you are telling?” Emmerdale simply responded: “We urge you to keep watching to see what happens next.”
