Moira Barton’s storyline in Emmerdale is about to get darker as the struggling mum turns to drugs – just like her late daughter Holly, who died from an overdose just over a year ago.
After learning some difficult news about new baby Isaac, Moira is plagued with guilt and finds herself unable to sleep, which is what prompts her to turn to pills.

When Moira finds out that Isaac – who was born last month – may have a serious heart condition, she’s beside herself with the thought that she might lose another child.
Desperate, she turns to a drug dealer for pills to help her get some rest.
She gets Simon the dealer’s number from Holly’s phone and contacts him to arrange a meet up.
As they have a secret meeting in a car, he hands over a stash of pills.
Moira didn’t know she was pregnant with Isaac and gave birth to him in shocking scenes in October as she came face to face with unhinged Emma Barton.
She’s felt guilty since his birth because she continued drinking and living a pretty unhealthy lifestyle, not knowing she was carrying the baby.
Since then, she’s become preoccupied with the thought that she somehow damaged the newborn while she was pregnant – even abandoning him at the hospital when she couldn’t stop him crying.
Moira has also found it difficult to bond with her surprise son and is suffering from postnatal depression.
She’s been struggling with the surprise addition to her family, with Isaac’s arrival opening up wounds of losing her daughter.
She’s terrified that she’ll lose Isaac too and it’s stopped her from being able to bond with the tot. She confessed that she’s scared he’ll die in his sleep, like Holly.
