Emmerdale: Speculation Victoria dies in Home Farm crash

Robert causes the crash, but Lawrence is driving

Victoria Barton hasn’t had much to do in the way of storylines lately, except for splitting up with husband Adam and remaining firm about not taking him back.

But could she be about to be propelled to the forefront of the show as the soap’s latest huge death?

The big twist in the tale is that her own brother, Robert Sugden, would actually be responsible for her demise if she does die.

Robert is trying to get his hands on Home Farm again. After his break up with Aaron Dingle, Robert has decided being good isn’t worth the effort, so he’s going to go bad, oh so bad, again.

He’s started by manipulating his baby mumma Rebecca White to bring him on board at Home Farm while her dad, Lawrence ‘nine lives’ White, recovers in hospital from his recent aneurysm.

But when Lawrence is discharged earlier than expected, Robert is put out to discover his role isn’t as necessary as he’d hoped.

He can’t have that, so he’s decided to take matters into his own hands and started spiking Lawrence’s booze bottles with sedatives to slow down the head honcho’s recovery.

As Lawrence rests in bed, while Robert takes care of everything, Home Farm are hosting a zombie run event and the gathering is in full swing.

The noise wakes a confused Lawrence though, who’s drowsy and unsure what’s going on.

Still in his pyjamas, he goes outside, gets in his car and heads off to investigate, even though he’s in absolutely no fit state to do so. This isn’t going to end well…

As he careers towards the zombie run, Belle Dingle, Lachlan White, and Victoria are directly in the vicinity as Lawrence loses control of the vehicle and ploughs into the event.

By the looks of the pictures, Lachlan seems to react pretty quick and get girlfriend Belle out of the way, but there’s no sign of Vic, who’s catering the event with her food stand – and that’s exactly what Lawrence reportedly hits.

If Victoria does die, Robert is going to be left with unimaginable guilt and is likely to go off on a path of self-destruction – how could he kill his sister?

And it wouldn’t just affect Robert either. Someone else who would be heartbroken by Victoria’s passing would be Adam, who’s desperately trying to win her back.

Vic has admitted to stepmum Diane Sugden that she does still love her estranged hubby and we’re really hopefully a reconciliation could be on the cards. How tragic would it be if that chance was taken away from them before they could admit the truth about their feelings to each other?

Would her death be the catalyst for Adam’s departure early next year? Could he go off the rails and, blaming Robert, be forced to leave the village to deal with his anger and grief?

There’s always hope though that Victoria won’t die. In which case, maybe the near-death experience will make her realise life is too short and see her run straight back into Adam’s arms?

We can dream of a happy ending in soap, can’t we?
