Tracy Shankly begins to worry about her marriage when her hubby, David Metcalfe, seemingly grows closer to his ex, Leyla Harding.

It all kicks off on Tracy’s birthday, when David heads out on a last minute errand and runs into Leyla, in a puddle, in her wedding dress.
Okay, we might need to back track a bit here.
Leyla’s been feeling pretty miserable since her split from Pete Barton, but she hits rock bottom when she realises she can’t afford to pay for her ripped designer wedding frock.
Leyla decides that she wants to wear the dress one more time but unfortunately wrecks it even more by rolling around in a muddy puddle after trying to drown her sorrows.
David finds her and is horrified to see what a state she’s in.
He offers to pay for the wedding dress himself – even though it would mean he would no longer be able to afford to take Tracy away on the dream holiday he promised her.
Leyla is touched by his kind-hearted gesture, although the same can’t be said for Tracy. But David doesn’t break the news about the holiday gently.
In fact, for some mad reason, he decides that her birthday party would be the ideal time and place. Come on David, you’re better than that!
Tracy is understandably gutted that David has chosen Leyla’s feelings over hers and begins to think there’s something more going on between them. Well, you would.
Her half-sister, Vanessa Woodfield, also suspects that Leyla has fallen for David again and confronts her about it, as they’re overheard by Megan Macey.
Megan then confronts Leyla who assures her that she just wants someone as good and kind as David, rather than actual David.

But can Tracy accept that as an answer? We really hope so as we don’t want another of our favourite ‘Dales relationships breaking down.
