Emmerdale SPOILER: Jimmy King to return to the dark side

And he might have some company

Emmerdale boss, Iain McLeod, has dropped hints that Jimmy King could be about to return to his scheming, devious roots – much like he was when his dad and brothers were alive.

Iain told Metro.co.uk: “Jimmy gets mixed up with some new arrivals in a way that makes him very unpopular in the village, basically. It will possibly involve him with a [place] that he was once involved with before.

“It occurred to us that Jimmy was part of this very high status family and then they all died – and now, in his own mind and secretly a little bit in Nicola’s, he feels like a bit of a loser.

“It’s interesting to compare him to the more successful, departed members of his own family and see what impact that has on his psychology. It’s about him trying to get back to what Tom would have wanted.”

As the only remaining member of the King family in residence, Jimmy’s frequently taken on the role of the buffoon, which is quite a departure from who he was when he first arrived in Emmerdale with dad, Tom, and brothers, Matthew and Carl.

However, we’ve recently seen glimpses of that hidden dark side, especially when Jimmy kidnapped Rakesh Kotecha.

Iain teased that Jimmy and wife, Nicola, are going to be involved in a big story coming up soon when these mysterious newcomers awaken certain ambitions in the couple.

Hmmm… very cryptic.

And what of these newcomers? Well, if the fan theory that Tom Waterhouse is actually Carl King’s son, Tom, is correct then we could possibly see Jimmy reconnect with his nephew to carry on the King legacy.

Fans became convinced that sexy newcomer Tom was of King descent after he made his debut earlier this month, seducing Debbie Dingle.

Although so far Tom’s storyline has consisted of him only being involved with Debbie Dingle, he is set to become a regular on the show and it’s clear he has a mysterious past.

His debut episode saw him get off to a shaky start with Deb, and by Thursday she decided to rob him of some expensive watches, roping Ross Barton into her plan.

It all turned a bit 50 Shades of Grey, when Tom ended up inviting her back to his room, where they slept together and he then revealed he’d rumbled her plan to steal from him.

He later followed her to the village to try to blackmail her into seeing him again, telling her: “There’s something between us, Debbie, call it a connection.”I just want the chance to prove to you that I’m not who you think I am.

“You and me, Debbie, we can get into all sorts of trouble. The ball’s in your court, let’s hope you make the right call.”

Smooth, charming, handsome and a little bit creepy. Remind you of anyone? Exactly, Carl King.

Carl was part of the King dynasty who owned Home Farm from 2004, but after ‘accidentally’ killing two people and then turning all-out bad boy and trying to rape Chas Dingle, Carl was eventually killed by Cameron Murray in 2012 – although at the time Chas believed she’d done it in self-defence.

We know that there is set to be a changing of the guards at Home Farm soon, with the White family on their way out.
Could a new generation of Kings be set to take over?
