Laurel Thomas faces Brenda’s dark campaign and temptation to drink again on ITV

Can anyone stop her making a terrible mistake?

Laurel Thomas has done brilliantly to kick her alcohol problem and cope with everything life has thrown at her since – especially Ashley’s sad death – without hitting the bottle.

Until now.

Next week, Brenda’s campaign against Laurel takes a dark turn – but will Laurel turn to booze to see her through? It’s possible…

With Brenda fully in the know about Laurel and Bob’s on/off affair, she’s been torturing her love rival. She’s even stolen Laurel’s purse and has been ordering stuff from the internet with her bank card.

Laurel has got a suspicion that Brenda knows the truth and she tells Bob what she fears.

Bob subtly tries to find out what his missus knows, but because Brenda knows what he’s up to, she manages to pretend she’s completely in the dark and Bob is convinced.

He tells Laurel she must have been imagining it, and Laurel’s hurt that he’s dismissed her worries out of hand.

Annoyed, she tells Bob to leave and once he’s gone, she takes out a bottle of whiskey.

Later, the penny drops when the police tell Laurel all the things ordered with her bank card were delivered to the cafe.

She suddenly realises that not only does Brenda know everything – as she suspected – but she is the one behind all the strange things that have been happening.
