Emmerdale SPOILER: Laurel’s big secret about Emma Barton’s murder is revealed

What's she been hiding?

Hmm…so we know that Emmerdale’s Laurel Thomas has got a secret she doesn’t want getting out. She’s already asked her sister and Bob Hope to cover for her – but why?

Laurel had denied being in the village at the time Emma Barton was murdered, but it later transpired that she was there, but she doesn’t want anyone to know.

Pretty suspicious behaviour if you ask us.

And we’re not the only ones to notice that Laurel is acting a bit out of character. Her stepdaughter, Gabby Thomas, starts to worry about Laurel’s state of mind when she catches her begging a photo of dead husband Ashley for forgiveness.

But what does she want him to forgive her for?

Emma Barton’s killer will finally be revealed in the upcoming funeral episodes – could Laurel’s guilt have anything to do with Emma’s grisly death?

The police obviously think Laurel’s looking a bit shady as well as they drag her in for questioning after Emma’s funeral.

They show her an incriminating photo which reveals her secret.

But what the heck is it?? Did vicar’s wife Laurel really resort to murder?

Luckily you won’t have to wait too long to find out as Emmerdale have confirmed when the killer will be revealed.

In a special double episode on December 14 – yes, that next Thursday – a series of flashbacks of each of the seven suspects will show who shoved Emma off the viaduct.

At the moment, her son Ross Barton is looking most guilty after being spotted at the scene shortly after Emma hit the ground. And he didn’t stick around to help her either.

Pete is looking pretty shady too – furious that Emma killed his beloved brother, Finn.

However, there could yet be another twist to come.

Emmerdale boss Iain MacLeod has teased that much like Emma, her killer could kill again to keep his or her secret.

He said: “Will the killer strike again?

“If you’ve already committed a murder, you’d go to any lengths to cover it up – that’s what got Emma into this mess in the first place.”

Roll on next Thursday, we say.
