It looks like there is more heartache on the horizon for Ross Barton next week as his new relationship hits the skids before it even gets going.
The mechanic reunites with Rebecca White after she suggests that they give their relationship another shot.
The pair dated briefly when Rebecca first arrived in the village, before she fell pregnant with Robert Sugden’s baby, Seb.
Ross – who was scarred for life in a vicious acid attack earlier this year – is delighted and later confesses to his brother Pete that he’s feeling optimistic about the fledgling romance.
But Ross is left shocked when he comes across a stressed and confused Rebecca with a stolen car transporter loaded with her dead dad’s cars and is now stuck.
She explains to Ross that she rescued the motors before they were sold and he offers to help her by stashing them in Butlers Farm.
They ended up kissing passionately but Rebecca is left rattled when PC Swirling arrives to question her about the missing cars.
But Ross is soon left confused when Rebecca suddenly goes off radar. Where is she?
Maybe Lachlan White has some idea as he runs into his aunt after attempting to bump off Robert and Liv.
When Rebecca arrives on the scene, the teenage killer realises he has a big problem on his hands and soon is seen standing by his car with a bloodied spanner and his latest victim in the boot.
Is the reason Rebecca is AWOL because she’s been murdered by her own nephew?
Obviously Lachlan isn’t worried about killing members of his own family. Rebecca narrowly escaped with her life after the tearaway deliberately caused a car crash which killed his mum and granddad.
With Mike Parr who plays unlucky in love Ross due to depart his role in the near future, could this be the beginning of his exit storyline?
Meanwhile some fans think that Ross will go on to save the life of his ex-girlfriend Debbie Dingle.
It was recently revealed that Sarah is suffering from heart failure as a result of all the chemotherapy she’s had in her short life.
And last week the schoolgirl took a turn for the worse when it was revealed she’d contracted a virus and needed a heart transplant sharpish.
The future looks bleak… although some viewers are speculating that Ross Barton will be her saviour.
Although treatment and medication can help, there is no cure.
But some fans are suggesting that Ross could die and that his heart will save young Sarah.
One fan predicted: “Sarah needs a heart transplant @MikeParrActor is leaving @emmerdale = Ross will die, Sarah will get his <heart emoji>”
Another said: “”Ross will die and Sarah will get his heart.”
With another adding: “Is that how Ross leaves emmerdale? He dies and Sarah gets his heart?”
